David Gross discussion session
On Tuesday morning, November 12 from 10:00-11:00 in the IFT auditorium, Prof. David Gross (KITP Santa Barbara) will have an informal discussion with students and researchers involving a question-answer session on all aspects of science. Professor Gross was awarded the 2004 Nobel Prize in Physics for his work on the strong interactions, and was director of the Kavli Institute for Theoretical Physics in Santa Barbara from 1997 to 2012. His visit to ICTP-SAIFR is sponsored by the Nobel Week Dialogue and the Nobel Prize Inspiration Initiative (NPII). All are invited to attend the discussion session and registration is not required.
After the morning discussion in the IFT auditorium, Prof. Gross will go on Tuesday afternoon to IFUSP. At 16:00, he will present a colloquium in the USP Abrahão de Moraes auditorium with the title “The frontiers of fundamental physics”.
