ICAS/ICTP-SAIFR Theoretical Physics Summer Camp 2025
March 17-21, 2025
ICTP-SAIFR, São Paulo, Brazil
Venue: UNSAM, San Martin, Buenos Aires, Argentina
Home
The aim of the Theoretical Physics Summer Camp 2025 is to strengthen the connections between the Argentine and Brazilian physics communities. Created and fostered by ICTP-SAIFR in São Paulo and ICAS in Buenos Aires, and centered around students as the focal point, we will strive to build new collaborations and enhance existing ones. Our ultimate goal is to establish an environment where students can pursue their PhDs under the joint mentorship of Brazilian and Argentine advisors, encouraging scientific visits between institutions to further solidify these academic partnerships. This initiative promises benefits for all involved, truly a win-win-win scenario! Achieving progress in the proposed directions would be a significant accomplishment.
The Theoretical Physics Summer Camp 2025 spans five days, during which professors introduce students to trending topics, questions, and significant challenges within their respective fields. In the afternoons, collaborative sessions are held where students and professors work together to tackle various issues and inquiries related to the lectures. On Friday, students will present their findings in short talks.
The camp is aimed at Argentine students who will be ready to start their PhD research in August 2025 but have not yet decided on a supervisor. Limited funds are available for travel and local expenses of the selected students.
